Art Prize for Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia
In 2012 – for the eleventh straight year - Henkel CEE announced a call for entries for the Henkel Art.Award. covering Central and Eastern Europe. The partners for this project are KulturKontakt Austria and the “Museum der Modernen Kunst Stiftung Ludwig” (Museum of Modern Art - MUMOK) in Vienna. In addition to the monetary prize of 7,000 euros and an exhibition in the artist’s native country, the prize winner of the Henkel Art.Award. also benefits from the cooperation with MUMOK and thus the great opportunity to display his or her works of art within the framework of an individual exhibition in MUMOK held in the following year, accompanied by the publication of an exhibition catalogue.
Additionally the Artists-in-Residence Program of KulturKontakt Austria offers a three-month scholarship in Vienna for artists from Central and Eastern Europe, including a studio, accommodation, insurance, a monthly scholarship of 1,000 euros and a presentation of the artist’s works at the end of their stay in the Austrian capital. Artists up to the age of 35 from the following countries can submit entries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and the Ukraine.
At the same time, Henkel CEE is also granting the Henkel Art.Award. Promotional Prize for Young Austrian Artists, featuring a monetary grant of 2,000 euros. Moreover, in cooperation with its longstanding partner KulturKontakt Austria, Henkel CEE is also bestowing the Henkel Art.Award. Promotional Prize for Young CEE Artists, which includes a monetary award of 2,000 euros. The prize winner is selected from among the participants in the Artists-in-Residence Program of KulturKontakt Austria.
The Henkel Art.Award. 2012 again will honor outstanding and innovative works of art submitted by fine artists in the fields of painting, drawing, photography, video and installation.
A top-class international jury will convene to evaluate all the entries and nominate five artists as the finalists to win the main prize, and also choose the winners of the Henkel Art.Award. Promotional Prize for Young Artists. The award winners will be announced at a gala award ceremony held in Vienna in November 2012, in the presence of all the nominees.
